I truly believe that retail can have a positive impact on people’s daily lives. From small details to grand immersive experiences, the consumer relationship plays a fundamental role in the contemporary world. The new era of brands has more power to connect people compared to traditional societal pillars. Brands are evolving from being product-centric to customer-centric, ultimately focusing on purpose-centric approaches, where companies understand their role in creating value and relevance.
I recently moved to Houston with the aim of deepening my knowledge of retail by pursuing a master’s degree in the subject at the University of Houston. In addition to the opportunity to return to studying, dedicating precious time in the busy professional routine to read, review, revise concepts, learn new ones, question and refine my understanding has been invaluable.
The reason that also motivated me to make this significant change is the opportunity to explore local and regional brands, new environments, new store formats, new concepts, or concepts not so new but that are being well-utilized.
That’s how the idea of creating this channel called “twist and shop” was born. For a music fan like me, the name is a play on words to show that the shopping universe can be fun and inspiring. This will be the place where I’ll share more about my discoveries of the “twists” in various retailers in different locations. Follow along and leave your comments. Let’s go shopping!
